Question by : What are the top 10 laptop brands?
I am planning on buying a laptop from best buy, whats the best one to buy?
also what do you think of a compaq laptop? are they any good? I’m a 15 year old high school student. I want a laptop that i can have fun with!

Mac is best of course, but WAY expensive. Definitely stay away from Gateway, Dell, and HP. Gateway is without a doubt the worst brand of computers out there. Compaq is cheap and sturdy, but it can’t perform as well as many of the other Computers out there. Asus and Toshiba’s are really good.

You should build your own desktop, it is actually much more fun!!!

Question by Einstein: Computer question: Which are the best brands of laptops?
I am planing to buy a laptop computer with a budget of -$ 1000.00. I know that each brand has a line of laptops going from the budget to the more expensive one, but what I’m interested in is which brand is the best and most reliable. I have heard that Asus and HP are the best of the best, but then again, I find forums online and such saying the contrary. Any help and input will be appreciated.

Well I have personally found out that Toshiba, Sony, HP, and Apple(Mac) are top favorites and very popular with people for laptops.

I have a Sony Vaio and take good care of it, as my life revolves around my laptop, I need something good and capable.

If you have a budget of $ 1000.00, I would say try Toshiba or HP, because I have seen recent/new models out from these 2 brands that would fit in your budget. As well some electronic stores have random deals in which if you purchase laptop from them you can get a free mouse, or half price of a printer etc.

Question by Rommel P: How do I know if a HP laptop harddrive would work on other brands of laptop?
My HP Pavilion laptop recently bit it. I would like to use the harddrive from it and, if possible, install it on a used laptop. But I want to make sure that it is compatible with a particular kind or brand of laptop.

HP laptops use generic PATA or SATA hard drives.
They are not proprietary.

I’m looking for a laptop, but I don’t really know what brands are worth looking at. Which ones are good and which ones are not worth it?

When buying a laptop you have to look at how much you are going to spend and what you are using the computer really for.

Tons of brands at decent prices but beware the lower you go in some brands the worse the computer is.

Good brands to look at are:
Dell
HP
Sony
Apple

Those are the ones to look at depending on what you are going to use it for of course. Other brands I have had no experience with so I cant say if they are good or not.
